Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair made more than just an error in judgment when he decided to take on 20 year old Sahel Kazemi as his mistress.
Young people have strong responses to sex and love. A girl of 20 is very inexperienced in the world and will believe that you are showering her with gifts, an Escalade, and trips because you love her and not because she is a gorgeous young woman you want to keep around for a little while. Her hormones and emotions will overpower her judgment and she will wholeheartedly believe you are leaving your wife and want to spend the rest of your days with her.
Not to be cynical, but McNair could have at least reduced his chances at misfortune by choosing a slightly older mistress, one who knew what the game was and would be content with being a well-paid plaything for a few months. By playing with Kazemi’s heart instead of just her body, he set himself up for disaster.
McNair must have still cared for or loved his wife, and he did what many powerful men do- have their cake and eat it too. It seems he had no intention of leaving his wife and kids, and he should have chosen a mistress savvy enough to understand that.
This is why politicians and businessmen tend to choose prostitutes over mistresses. A prostitute knows when to leave.
